Apple’s Human Interface Design is seeking an experienced and passionate technician to support the services, hardware, software and infrastructure that our designers and internal tools rely on. Description Description This role is a key part of the Design Studio’s tech team, providing white-glove technical support services to our designers as they create world-renowned products. You enjoy working in a multifaceted creative department, taking ownership of both in-person and remote support, as well as long term, higher level projects and initiatives. You’re able to set and revise priorities in a constantly evolving environment and provide knowledgeable responses, tailored to the individuals seeking assistance.
Each day, you’ll support the Design Team in some of the following ways:
- Assist in resolving technical issues across hardware, software and infrastructure.
- Educate users and share helpful guidance and updates
- Install, update and troubleshoot key applications used by the team
- Manage hardware inventory across users
- Develop relationships with designers to more deeply understand their work
You’ll also take part in planning for our long-term roadmap and be expected to drive projects from concept to completion, researching and deploying new tools and solutions. While you’ll be connected with seasoned individuals and teams from across Apple, we’ll depend on your expertise and experience to innovate for the studio’s unique needs. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Have a complete, inside-and-out understanding of troubleshooting theory and component isolation A strongly proactive and positive approach to finding solutions to unique problems Pro-level working knowledge of all of Apple’s software platforms; familiarity with the wide variety of internal services and support Apple offerings Must be able to multitask and simultaneously engage with multiple technical situations at once Experienced in crafting and maintaining team documentation Able to load software builds onto the full spectrum of Apple hardware Comfortable with command-line tools and shell scripting Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications 5 or more years of Genius Bar support, or an equivalent Apple-focused support environment Familiar with the quirks of digital content creation tools like Maya, Cinema4D, Houdini, Nuke, and Adobe CC Creative media, visual effects, or post production studio environment experience Cross-platform experience in a mixed-platform Linux/Windows/Mac environment Render farm and licensing system support Education & Experience Education & Experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $102,000 and $170,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
