The successful candidate will be responsible for the detailed mechanical design of Infinera’s next generation optical transceiver products. She/he will be working as part of a cross-functional development team to ensure successful delivery of complex electro/optical/mechanical assemblies, from early concept through manufacturing introduction. ResponsibilitiesDefinition of product features, considering mechanical/electrical/thermal tradeoffs, product requirements, schedule, cost and company objectives.Prototype creation for engineering evaluation, as well as product design for high-volume production.Work with manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers directly to establish sources for all components and assemblies.Create production level mechanical parts and assembly models. Generate drawings using Creo Parametric. Performed detailed design documentation.Participate in and coordinate design reviews.Perform analysis, design inspection, prepare technical reports.Hands-on participation in product validation and qualification.Collaborate with various technical disciplines to identify root causes and solve complex problems.Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3+ years of experience in mechanical designExperience using Creo/WindchillExperience in optical assemblies mechanical design, fiber optic processes, optoelectronic technologies in an assetKnowledge and implementation of cooling techniquesWorking knowledge of industry qualification and reliability standards such as MIL-STD and Telcordia GR-468 and GR-63 is an assetAble to document engineering work in a clear, concise, and organized mannerGreat writing and communication skillsGreat team player with strong attention to details, organizational skills and demonstrated problem solving abilities#LI-JP1Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
