We are seeking a Senior System Program Manager who will help lead a team to deliver the next generation of docking solutions.As a Senior System Program Manager, you will lead a cross functional team to collaboratively plan, design, launch and manage new docking solutions. This includes leading the team through product definitions and engineering development. You will need to manage schedule, understand and mitigate risk, as well as manage an agile life cycle from inception through launch until end of life. As the Senior SM, you will be looked to as the focal point from upper management on these products. To do this, you'll need to bring your technical and program management skills/experiences and navigating personal computing architecture (including Software, Hardware, and Firmware) as well as understand larger overall mobile computing trends for both home and office.Responsibilities:The System Manager is responsible for leading a cross-function team to deliver and support docking solution programs. The System Manager utilizes knowledge and experience to drive the product category strategy with a concept to end-of-life vision, lead cross-functional teams to deliver the right products at the right time and cost structure, ensure production commitments are achieved, and maximize financial performance for the business throughout the product lifecycle. The System Manager’s responsibilities span driving the team to lock down program concepts, leading the RFQ and ODM selection process, planning and delivering the program POR, managing team execution to the POR throughout the development and production ramp phases, and ensuring production volume and quality commitments are achieved throughout the products lifecycle. The position requires maintaining a business level focus while understanding the technical details and effectively and efficiently managing a diverse team.Docking Solutions span many different computing solutions (Consumer Notebooks, Commercial Notebooks, Thin Clients, Chromebooks, competitive notebooks) as well as various OS’s (Windows, Linux and Chrome). This drives not only cross functional team work, but cross organizational as well as a broad understanding of various solutions and environments where docking solutions could be used.The role will also require ability to comprehend and work through complex support/test matrix situations as docking solutions need to be tested and validated in nearly all product portfolios across multiple groups, ODMs, and partners.Desired experience with managing external vendors such as Microsoft, Google, Intel, and Apple, as well as various silicon providers during design and delivery of the product is desired.An understanding of USB-C, Thunderbolt and various Display technologies is preferred as they are key parts to the docking solution experience.Knowledge or experience with managing firmware would also be beneficial as well as working with multiple product/deliverable owners to assure efficiently planned releases.Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization.Demand and promote insight & customer value driven innovationBe able to adeptly ideate and arbitrate as needed with architects, designers, developers and stakeholdersThe manager will provide program status and issue direction to management and executive teams; make program tradeoffs that balance TCE, cost, organizational ability to execute, and market competitiveness; and drive innovation and product differentiation. The System Manager will be held accountable for meeting the business unit financial plan. This specifically includes maximizing the business potential by optimizing team structures and delivering competitive products on time, in volume, and with industry leading quality.Provides mentoring and guidance to less-experienced team members.Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.PMP/PMI certification preferred.Typically 6-10 years experience.Knowledge and Skills:The position requires an in-depth knowledge of one or more aspects of personal system delivery, such as engineering, marketing, or supply chain management. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to effectively manage individual contributors or program teams and work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
