Senior Manager, Peripheral Engineering Program ManagementDescription -Job SummaryUnique mastery in engineering program management role to lead the cross functional engineering teams (Including Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Validation) focused on development of a comprehensive Peripheral portfolio across Consumer, Commercial and Design industries. This senior management role will work with internal and external partners to define requirements and manage product development within quality and schedule guidelines. A key aspect of the role will be the ability to inspire the team and provide direction on innovation and customer experience, as well as execution accuracy and effectiveness.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the Engineering interface to the System Team, interacting with Product Management, Industrial Design, Support, Quality, Factory Operations, and Procurement.Engage with program managers, product management, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues; guides and influences strategic decision-making.Manage relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, process, product quality, schedules and costs; ensures that internal and external team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.Manage deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs, ensuring that cross-functional teams are appropriately allocated; ensures goals, objectives, timelines and budgets are met in accordance quality and experience goals.Manage pre-development planning to identify hardware, firmware and software solutions that will enhance customer experience and provide differentiation to the industry.Proactively identifie opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.Ensures product and experience definition meets established objectives; on time and at cost.Drive and foster organization-wide performance and experience standards, expectations and practices to support ongoing process development.Thoughtful and curious; informed and knowledgeable of technology and engineering trends.Lead and provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of program management innovation and excellence.Education and Experience Required15+ years of experience in R&D engineering function with at least 3-5 years people manager experience.First level university degree or equivalent experience required in Engineering field.Experience in the Input/Output (I/O) and notebook product development is highly preferred.Knowledge in key I/O architecture including interface, component, wireless and software/firmware required.PMP/PMI certification preferred.Knowledge and SkillsAdvanced communication and presentation skills catered to a wide variety of audiences. (e.g. executives); Fluent in both English and Mandarin is a must.Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflict resolution and management.Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization and project structuring.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Experienced in managing across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.Superior business acumen, technical knowledge of multiple business units and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting Strong understanding of policies and processes.Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills.DisclaimerThis job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
