Our core team principal is to cultivate empowered, autonomous, diverse teams with freedom and support to experiment, celebrate learning and drive groundbreaking innovation leading to a brighter Workday for all!About the RoleThe Workday on Workday Product Team is looking for an experienced Manager, Software Development who will lead a team of software developers and be responsible for delivering Workday innovations and solutions using modern technologies to provide an unparalleled level of agility, ease-of-use, and integration capability. Key Responsibilities:Grow, lead and inspire a team of software developers to build and maintain the productProvides proactive visibility and effectively communicates delivery targets, commitments and progressIdentifies impediments early, actively works to resolve those impediments, and escalates when neededManagement and tracking of cross team/squad dependenciesManagement and tracking of all high-integrity commitmentsWorks to minimize meetings and ceremonies, but when they are needed, they are well-run and efficientEncourages a culture of team-driven decision making and commitmentWhere appropriate, coaches the teams to improve collaboration and outcomesAbout YouBasic Qualifications:5+ years of experience working in the engineering organization of a product company using common Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, XP)1+ years managing development teams of engineers2+ years of experience building Integrations, API experience, SQL /WQL, JavaScript with JSON & XMLOther Qualifications:5+ years of software design and development experience including experience leading ML engineeringGood general understanding of how large scale software systems are designed, built, tested, deployed and into the hands of customers.Experience recruiting, growing, and mentoring a diverse group of colleaguesSolid communicator to both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong understanding of delivery methods and metrics.Good general understanding of the role of product managers, product designers, engineers, quality assurance, and dev opsCertified Scrum Master (CSM) certificationExperience with Workday Extend, Workday Integrations; Python development is a plusKnowledge of SaaS applications, SaaS deployment models, and SaaS DevOpsConsistent track record of leading complex multi-functional technical initiatives in a fast paced environmentExperience building trust and credibility with key stakeholdersOur Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
