Workday is embarking on our next growth adventure, and we are growing and expanding our presence in India with an Accounting organization in Pune.About the RoleThe Accounting Director, Finance Site Leader for India will serve both as: Local leader for all Accounting Office workmates overseeing teams across GL Accounting, Accounts Payable, Expense, Payroll, AR and Revenue Accounting Operations, responsible for building a strong Finance team in India and creating a vibrant Workday environment in this growing office location.Local Accounting lead for the India entity driving accounting compliance and liaising with other teams on any local statutory needsIndia leadership responsibilities:Build the Accounting and Finance Operations team in India, supporting training and development in the locationLiaise with functional leaders to ensure quality work product from the local team and alignment to global processes and policiesSupport performance management and organizational effectiveness of local team Represent the best interests of all Finance Workmates in India in areas related to employee wellness, including coordinating local team building, guiding and incorporating Workday values across all aspects of site/employee base, ensuring active Workmate engagement and happiness.Provide compliance oversight for all locations in India, specifically in finance, accounting, payroll, and tax. Evangelize talent, capabilities & skills that can be found within India to Workday Finance leadership to drive growth of site. Experience in finance compliance for a U.S. based multinational company operating in IndiaExperience working in a matrix leadership environment with leaders in the U.S.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferredConsistent track record of analyzing problems, applying quantitative analytical approaches, communicating effectively (both oral and written) and, working with cross-functional teams.Comfortable working with all levels of the organization including senior leaders.Effective people leadership skills, provide direction, set priorities, and deliver mentorship to support talent development.Proven ability to influence seniors and peers without direct authority; experience leading multi-functional initiatives with multiple team members.Adapts to changes in priorities with ease, comfortable working “in the gray” while defining the way forward.Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
