Warehouse Specialist (Data Center)Job Summary:Shipping and receiving functions in a data centerResponsibilitiesSupports the team with controls stock inventory and oversees the accuracy of documentationWorks with internal/external customers and other departments to ensure deliveries are made in a timely manneDocumentation & System UpdatesEnsures accuracy of supporting documentationUses system tools to maintain accurate records, and escalates when queries ariseEnters all goods received in the stock inventory system, updates the database, and correlates the items received to ensure order requirements are fulfilledSupports the team by mentoring junior team members with moderately difficult orders where judgement and recommendations may be requiredShipping & ReceivingCoordinates with carriers such as FedEx and UPSReceives goods delivered to the data center either directly or following acceptance by security, within a moderate scopeAssists in daily warehouse duties, satisfying internal customers’ requirements, and ensuring accuracy of shipmentsEnsures items are dispatched and coordinates speedy and efficient delivery of goods to the required destination; obtains sign-off for receiptUses Shipment spotlight and shipment dashboard for customers inbound/outbound shipmentsProblem SolvingContacts suppliers Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and internal customers on stock and projected delivery times for special ordersInventory ManagementAllocations of stock inventory to internal customers, scheduling materials to be moved to and from Data Center’s; coordinates inventory transfers with related departments. May include applying proper safety procedures related to hazardous materialsMaintains minimum/maximum stock for projects and operations teamsAssists with monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, inputting data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) software using Equinix databasePicks and correlates items ordered and stores them in the relevant Data Center bins for the customers for standard ordersInform recipients of any shortfalls in quantities and backorder timesHazardous MaterialsHandles hazardous materials independentlyEnsures proper storage of hazardous materialsFollows and complies with hazardous materials through moderate protocols, as described by regional regulatory bodiesEquipmentUses pallet jacks and forkliftsOrganizes stored and/or abandoned equipment and maintains inventory of equipmentUses the aging shipment business processes/tools for shipments over 5 days 14 days, 30 days and 90 daysLiaises with the Customer Service Associate (CSA) team on these issues and implements solutionsTracks "in use" and or "highly available" software licensesUses software lifecycle for software license managementUses historical data and systems to renew or solve moderate renewal issues for software licensingData Center SupportAssists with delivering and removal of customers equipment from cagesWhen requested by a Smart Hand (SH) request, assists with packing customers equipment with packing material so that it can be shipped from the data centerQualificationsTypically requires a high school diploma and 2-4 years of equivalent warehouse or logistics experienceRegional hazardous materials certification preferred
