What to expect when you joinThe first few weeks after joining will be spent following the VMware by Broadcom onboarding process which will ease you into your new environment allowing you to familiarize yourself with the systems and methodology you will be using, any mandatory training and getting to know your peers and other UK&I teams that you will be working and liaising withYou will be allocated a mentor (someone in an equivalent role) that will help you to get up to speed with how PS deliver successful projects. You will then shadow a number of inflight engagements to allow greater familiarisation with the roleAfter approx. 20-30 days you will start to be allocated your own projects to begin delivering, initially these maybe small projects in order to put in practice the learnings of the previous weeks. From this point onwards you will be allocated increasing larger/complex projects to manage, you will aim to solidify your knowledge and continue to grow soft skills via the learning platforms made available to you as well as through experiences gained delivering projectsThe Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be promoting on a regular basis? Managing the delivery of small to medium sized projects or leading workstreams on larger Programs.You will take ownership and a proactive lead in understanding the purpose of the projects you are delivering and what success looks like for the customer. You will ensure the project team are aligned with and focused on those outcomesUsing your excellent organisational, collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills you will Plan, coordinate, track and manage project(s) to successful completion with focus on the customers outcomes and reducing Time to ValueDevelop and maintain project plans including scope, work breakdown structures, estimates, resource plans, budget, task dependencies, schedule, open issues, and risk assessment, management and mitigation plans across multiple workstreamsWork with resource managers, technical staff and business subject matter experts to orchestrate project delivery to ensure projects are delivered and executed in alignment with the overall project plan, driving customer outcomes, value and customer satisfactionDefine and manage overall project risks and take corrective action in a proactive manner to mitigate risks and prevent issuesDirect and monitor work efforts on a daily basis, identify resource needs, perform quality review; and escalate functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of the project – schedule, budget, progress to date, risks etc. to relevant stakeholders (internal and external)Follow the VMware by Broadcom project management methodology and ensure that projects adhere to the defined methodologyEngage with Sales and Account teams to identify account growth opportunitiesProjects may be Waterfall or Agile based delivery You will be expected to travel up to 60% of the time across UK and Ireland as the business requires.What is the leadership like for this role? Following the acquisition of VMware by Broadcom the Consulting team and structure has remained largely unchanged allowing for the existing culture within the team to remain and grow.
