You will drive your ability to achieve sales objectives in line with the Company's mission and will be eager to cultivate relationships with customers, both pre and post sales to identify and help implement NGS workflows. You’ll enjoy helping our customers achieve their goal and you’ll establish yourself as a trusted partner and a key team player for our Commercial business.Please note that this is a field-based position to be based ideally in Madrid (although other locations with good connections to customer sites may be considered, excluding Catalonia). The role requires a valid driving license and you will be required to travel up to 60% for the role covering a specific territory in Spain. It is essential for the role that the successful candidate has fluent English and Spanish language skills. Closing date: 31st May 2024 Responsibilities Drive towards meeting and exceeding sales quotas by actively engaging in sales activities, delivering technical expertise throughout the sales process, and providing effective consultations on applications, assay design, and data analysis/interpretation.Collaborate closely with existing territory account managers, sales specialists and manager to boost library preparation and bioinformatics sales. Ensure a swift "time to implementation" of new library preparation solutions.Stay vigilant about market trends and stay well-informed to identify new opportunities for library preparation (LP).Align and contribute to strategic territory plans in collaboration with other Specialists, Territory Account Managers (TAMs) and District Sales Managers (DSMs).Stay updated and provide additional training on the library preparation workflow to customers and colleagues when needed.Collaborate with sales, service, and support teams to ensure effective account/customer management and communication throughout the pre-sales, installation, and post-sales cycle.Escalate technical issues to Technical Support for resolution.Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers in the assigned territory and turn them into long-term partnerships.Represent the company professionally, ethically, and morally at all times, adhering to Illumina's Values.Fluency in business English and Spanish is required.Location: ideally Madrid, although other locations with good connections to customer sites may be considered, excluding Catalonia, where we already have a Technical Sales Specialist. Experience/Education; Strong technical background in molecular biology, genomics, NGS.BA/BS or MS/PhD preferred in Molecular Biology or related.Experience in clinical and/or translational sales would be highly desirable.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven mindset, with a passion for omics technologies.Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, articulate value propositions, and drive sales engagements.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Able to identify and develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders through strategic networking and independent research.Fluent/native language skills in both Spanish and English.Ability to travel up to 60%.Illumina believes that everyone has the ability to make an impact, and we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer committed to providing employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, creed, color, gender, religion, marital status, domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, pregnancy, military or veteran status, citizenship status, and genetic information.
