We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Sr Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the business team supporting reporting activities and analytics for the organization.
In this role, Senior Financial Analyst will own and drive critical weekly, monthly, and quarterly analytics supporting financial close cycles and future forecasts. A candidate will get a clear understanding of the structure, reporting requirements and strategic goals of Twist Bioscience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide value-added analytics that highlights key variances, forecasts, risks, and broader trends for company’s performance
Report financial and business performance against key business metrics and provide detailed explanations for actual vs budget and forecast variances
Support the Annual Budget process
Develop financial models spanning across all three financial statements, perform benchmarking, and period over period trending
Support end-to-end analysis & reviews of:
Specific supporting requirements for Quarterly Earnings Calls including Capital Expenditure, Working Capital, Free Cash Flow, Return on Invested Capital, etc.
Support preparation of reporting materials for month-end and quarter-end close reviews
Help develop, apply, and implement the best tools to analyze data including sophisticated Excel financial models and BI and Planning analytical tools
Drive continuous improvement
Provide support for various acquisition integration activities and ad-hoc analysis
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred)
3-5 years of proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling is required
Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to collaborate and partner across teams to deliver results
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Experience evaluating market opportunities and applying the finance toolbox to evaluate product development priorities, evaluate strategic options, and performing should cost and make-buy type analysis
High aptitude in Excel Decision Modeling and proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP and related financial systems
Understanding of all three financial statements and their inter-relationships
Ability to manage projects to complete complex analysis and implement new business and planning processes
Nice to Have:
CPA
Proven experience working with Business Intelligence or data discovery platforms such as Power BI or Tableau
Biotech experience
The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations. San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range $105,921 — $133,142 USD
