This candidate will act as a leader throughout the Business Development Team, whilst also generating qualified sales opportunities for our Inside sale teams. As part of the Business Development team, you will be working closely with the regional sales and marketing teams to generate sales accepted leads via multiple channels with a mix of inbound (lead follow-up) and outbound (prospecting) activities.As a Team lead for Business Development, you will be responsible for gathering intelligence and developing a deep understanding of your assigned accounts, as well as assisting employees with your team and acting as a mentor.You will work closely with both Account Management and Marketing to define and execute a successful account-based sales strategy for the ANZ region.Your day-to-daySupports team manager and assists with management duties when manager is absent or out of officeQualify and develop inbound and outbound sales accepted leads and respond to product inquiriesManage cold-calling telephone-based campaigns to generate new sales prospectsIdentifies and creates strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goalsCreates and implements training materials, documentation, and resources to support the organizationMaintains a direct overview of department KPI’s and accountability metricsProvides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checksSpends time teaching, training, and coaching members of the BDR team to increase individual performanceFollow-up on all leads generated by marketing and convert initial interest into sales accepted leadsComplete accurate tracking of communication with current and potential customers in Salesforce.comSchedule meetings between Sales team members and potential customer Manage various campaigns to generate new sales prospects What You Bring To The TeamHighly motivated individual with a competitive personality, and good attention to detailPrevious experience with solutions that can be deployed in private or public clouds a plusExperience working with Salesforce.com or other CRM is a bonusExcellent phone and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) as well as organisational skillsPrevious experience working and succeeding in a goal-driven environment preferredAcademic qualifications Degree level educated or equivalent experiences.Fluent English and any additional language skills required, and any additional languages are a plusWhy ProofpointAs a customer focused and driven-to-win organization with leading edge products, there are many exciting reasons to join the Proofpoint team.
