Process Engineering Technician (Test Engineering Team) Status: Non-exempt (Hourly)                                                                       Department: OperationsPosition SummaryThe Process Engineering Technician plays a support role in within the Process Engineering organization.  This individual supports a culture of continuous improvement focused on achieving the highest possible levels of product quality and operational excellence.Principle AccountabilitiesSupport the creation of process documentation and workflows for manufacturing processes and production material flows.Support and monitor continuous improvement initiatives with data collection, analyses, and KPI. Support production quality, production capacity, and cost reduction initiatives. Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures compliance to all Regulatory (Local, Federal), Corporate, and Plant standards.Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of Plug Power products and related manufacturing objectives and engineering constraints.Drives continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity for production and warehouse initiatives.Supports the implementing of process improvement projects, Kaizen and training events using Lean-Sigma tools, including safety, ergonomics, 5S, Kanbans, statistical process control, standard work, and visual controls.Monitors process improvement progress and supports team problem solving projects.Supports the development and maintenance of manufacturing process key performance indicators (KPI’s).Supports the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP’s).Leads and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with guidelines.Leads in resolving operations related concerns.Leads variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices.Identifies throughput constraints and drives root cause improvements.Trains team to Standard Operating Procedures.Represents Plug Power in a professional manner at all times.Performs all other duties as assigned.Education and Experience Associates in engineering with 2 years related work experience or High School Diploma with Five (5) or more years of related work experience within a high-tech manufacturing operation.Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred.Excellent organizational and time management skillsOutstanding communication and presentation skills.Ability to write production assembly procedures.Ability to model and analyze process workflows and value stream maps.Demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem solving.Strong analytical skills and data-driven approach to evaluate data and assimilate into a working plan for improvement.Experience with ERP systems, data bases, and spreadsheet analysis.Experience with Change Management and Strategic Communications.Proficient with Microsoft Office software.Ability to multi-task effectively.Experience in Visual Factory Management.Experience in Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must be driven and self-motivated.Estimated Base Salary Range:$23.00 - $33.00
