JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Associate Translation Specialist Department: Content OperationsDivision: IP Reports To: Job Grade: Main Purpose of Job: Support effective management and champion continuous improvement of our quality driven operational workflow for translated Chinese patent content by optimising the use of editorial resource to enhance our content, carrying out quality analysis to optimize our workflow and operational practises and providing oversight of the master dictionaries and translation memory.Tasks/duties:Analyze quality checks from weekly publications of Chinese patents to drive weekly selection and allocation of translated patent records for editorial enhancement.Review editorial suggestions applied to local translation dictionaries, approve valid suggestions and oversee updates to master dictionaries.Review and approve suggestions and manage updates to the translation memory.Manage customer cases assigned by the Customer Service Desk and operational requests for translation enhancement, allocate retranslation/enhancement requests and manage any associated updates to the master dictionaries and translation memory.Provide data analysis and reporting from periodic quality benchmarking reviews.Provide analysis and feedback of quality assurance data to external vendors to drive continuous content improvement.Provide analysis and suggestions for process and content improvements as part of daily role or through participation in project teams.Provide quality assurance checks for the translation of assignee, inventor, agent names translations and address data.Support Chinese patent assignee (PACO) team in reviewing and researching the correct translation of company entities to ensure a joined-up approach to the translation and identification of companies.Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager on a permanent or temporary basis.Contacts: Beijing Team, IP Solutions Front End Team (London), Operations Manager First Level Data Operations (Munich), Customer Service Helpdesk, other Clarivate employees as needed.Qualifications/Skills/Experience:Excellent read and written Chinese (Mandarin) and excellent read, spoken and written English.An Engineering related degree required; masters/advanced degree preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Previous experience in quality control is preferableA customer-driven approach and good commercial awareness.Effective time management end organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines and targets.A team player with the ability to work under own initiative, driving concept to conclusion.Excellent interpersonal skills.Problem identification and solving skills.Visible “can do” approach to work and positive attitude to change.At Clarivate, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all persons with respect to hiring, compensation, promotion, training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.
