Here you will take the next step and work with pioneering teams to bring Broadcom’s world-leading products and know-how from the drawing board to the real world.Avago Technologies Fiber Austria GmbH, a Broadcom Inc. companyOur office is located in Vienna, the beautiful capital of Austria. We develop integrated circuits that are used in transceiver and sensor products for industrial, medical, automotive and aerospace applications. As we continue to expand both our IC portfolio and our design complexity, we intend to strengthen our team and offer the position of a Mixed-Signal ASIC Designer with a strong focus on world-class analog design experience. You will become part of a hand-picked multidisciplinary team and engage in senior research and development projects for optoelectronic transceivers and complex sensor ASICs.More specific tasks include:Work in a joint team of top analog and digital designers to develop new integrated mixed-signal ASICs and their functional blocks. Our projects target high performance OEICs, communication and sensor front ends for industrial, medical, automotive and aerospace industries.Develop analog and digital blocks, arrange them to functional groups, and combine them into a mixed-signal hierarchy and design.Take responsibility not only for the complete schematic and layout of the ASIC, but also for the entire product lifecycle and project management. This starts with detailed technical customer communication, followed by ASIC specification work and extends to chip characterization, validation and test development. Our team’s typical tasks also include the specification and implementation of dedicated IC blocks and digital or analog interfaces for effective testing at the wafer or module level (design for test).Subtasks to the core ASIC development could also include establishing new simulation tools or processes to accelerate the design and simulation of complex mixed-signal ICs and to increase the ASIC reliability.Formal QualificationsMaster Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics and Photonics, Telecommunications or Embedded Systems with several years of demonstrated experience. Profound expertise in analog circuit design at schematic and layout level. Knowledge of ASIC simulation and verification methods and their implementation during the development cycle. Expertise in optical detectors, particularly integrated optical detectors.Required or desired knowledge of the following skillsExpertise in all steps of a complete mixed-signal ASIC design cycle, including but not limited to:Definition of architecture and specification of ASICsSchematic development including simulation and modelingLayout design including verification (DRC, LVS)Integration of analog and digital blocks into mixed-signal designsParasitic extraction and performance verificationManagement of the full ASIC design cycle including specification, definition, fabrication, characterization, qualification and testingIn-depth knowledge of modern analog integrated circuit design and the techniques and tools used for analog and mixed-signal design is requiredKnowledge of digital design and layout (front-end and back-end) is desiredKnowledge in advanced simulations techniques (e.g. modeling) is requiredKnowledge in Design for Testability (DFT) is desiredAn independent, precise working style and the willingness to communicate and collaborate closely with the ASIC design team, the higher-level product teams, as well as customers and suppliers are mandatoryWillingness to take over responsibility for complex ASIC designs and the necessary communication with all stakeholders during the IC lifecycleAbility to integrate into teams across functions and locationsWide interest in interdisciplinary work interfacing to sensors, electronics, optics, fiber technology, communication and medical systems.English communication skills, both verbal and written are mandatory.
