Manufacturing Development engineer (Electrical)Description -What a Manufacturing Development engineer (Electrical) does in HP:• Leads multiple project teams of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of development across multiple engineering disciplines for complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology solutions.• Reviews and governs the technical quality of engineering deliverables from the project teams.• Evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.• Expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.• Works closely with customer engineering section management to interpret and document client priorities, scope and requirements.• Develops cost estimates, business cases, appropriation requests and plans for engineering projects.• Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering leadership and perspective to cross- organization projects, programs, and activities.• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the engineering design organization.• Exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence.Education & Experience Recommended• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.Preferred Certifications• Product Certification• Six Sigma CertificationKnowledge & SkillsCore EE Hardware design and troubleshooting skillProduct PLC experienceExperience PCA manufacturing process and testingGeneral and specific knowledge of electro-mechanical functionProduct System knowledge and integrationSpecific to product EE/System/FW integration and developmentProduct test methodology and functionsEE Quality system and functionsEMC, ESD and product stewardship compliance and certificationAgile MethodologyAutomationComputer ScienceJava (Programming Language)JavaScript (Programming Language)Python (Programming Language)Product FW and Software DevelopmentProduct FW and Software Development Life CycleCross-Org Skills• Effective Communication• Results Orientation• Learning Agility• Digital Fluency• Customer CentricityDisclaimer• This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
