Engineering ManagerDescription -Job SummaryHP is looking for an Engineering Manager – Software Quality Engineering who will lead a team of talented SDET and contractors working on Firmware Qualification. The Manager should have several years of qualification experience and a strong understanding of QA process, test strategy, test automation, Quality Improvements etc. The right candidate will work collaboratively to establish and improve the overall Firmware Quality & process.ResponsibilitiesProvides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and implementing quality assurance and test processes and coordinating projects for end-users and firmware on various firmware platforms across various Printer segmentsManages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for all ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmapsCommunicates project status and escalates issues to peer managers, program managers, and internal and external development partnersProactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunitiesProvides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process developmentEnable & influence continuous learning & development of the team members especially in the areas of AI & ML, Systems Thinking in identifying & resolving issues etc.Education & Experience RecommendedUniversity degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical areaTypically 10 or more years of related work experience, including 3+ years of people management and /or Lead Engineer experienceKnowledge & SkillsDemonstrated experience developing and maintaining scalable automation platform and tests/use casesDemonstrated Experience with Python and/or C#Demonstrated experience with automation through REST APIDemonstrated knowledge or experience with software quality metrics and dashboardsBasic knowledge of AI/ML Exposure or Knowledge of CI/CDCross-Org Skills• Customer Centricity• Prioritization• Resilience• Team Management• Strategic ThinkingImpact & Scope• Impacts function and leads projects requiring understanding of multiple disciplines or areas of HP.Complexity• Uses managerial concepts and company objectives to resolve issues in creative and effective ways.Disclaimer• This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
