Associate Content Catalogue EditorAs an Associate/Content Catalogue Editor focused on original and copy cataloging, metadata, and quality processes within the Books Content and Cataloging group of ProQuest – a part of Clarivate, you will be part of a team of librarians who are cataloging and metadata professionals. Your focus will be on cataloging monograph titles and other content formats, quality assurance, and customer support tasks related to ensuring that our products have associated MARC records to deliver to our customers. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in library science or relevant subject1+ year(s) experience working in Libraries/Digital Libraries/Digital Asset ManagementExperience in cataloging, including non-print materials formats and non-English language and having good experience using validation programs such as MARCEdit and MarcReportCataloging experience (original and copy cataloging) and subject analysis and classification for books contentKnowledge of MARC, AACR2 and RDA, Library of Congress Program for Cooperative Cataloging Policy Statements, and Library of Congress authority filesKnowledge of current and emerging cataloging and metadata standards, tools, and best practicesIt would be great if you also had . . . Cataloging experience in RDA for monographs, videos, music, scores, government documentsKnowledge of XML, various schemas, books metadata standardsStrong communication skills in a global environmentWhat will you be doing in this role? Catalogue MARC records for eBook titles, applying authorized subjects, author headings and other access points, following the MARC and RDA rules and using Library of Congress authoritiesValidate MARC records using one or more validation tools, following the team documentation in the quality assurance processEnrich brief MARC records to full MARC records for eBook titlesDevelop an understanding of our eBook, video, and government products As a member of the Cataloging team, you will work collaboratively with the Books Content and Cataloging group that curates our comprehensive Books metadata repository, helping libraries, booksellers, publishers, and other information professionals discover titles in the vast Books marketplace. You will also work with the Alexander Street and Government Information groups.
