You will be joining the development team of Acrobat and Reader, which delivers high-quality PDF solutions on Windows and Mac platforms. Will be joining the Adobe’s Document Cloud organization and will also collaborate with other Adobe teams, such as Adobe Research, Creative -Cloud and Experience Cloud to create amazing digital experiences for our customers.As a Director of Engineering, you will provide technical vision and leadership to your teams and mentor and coach them to achieve their full potential. You will champion a culture of agility, excellence, collaboration, Customer centric, ensure teams deliver products that meet the highest standards of quality, performance, security, and usability. Drive the adoption of leading practices, modern tools, and agile methodologies across the engineering organization. Be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of your products, from ideation to deployment, and ensure that they align with the overall business goals and customer needs. Be a key partner for the Experience Design and Product Management & Marketing teams and help shape the product strategy and roadmap based on market trends, customer feedback, and landscape analysis.You will lead multiple engineering teams and manage development of a diverse portfolio of products, galvanizing the teams, encourage them to innovate, build and deliver best in class products to our global customers.Role SummaryThis position offers unique opportunity to build Adobe’s flagship and award-winning products in a platform agnostic manner on pioneering tools and technologies using the best of desktop, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and cloud technologies. In this role you will closely partner with the cross functional team of Experience Design, Product and Program Managers in addition to the Marketing team to define and deliver on product roadmaps. You will also be responsible for interaction with customers (directly and through the customer success team) worldwide, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations through deep innovation and delightful experiences.What you’ll doAs Director Engineering in Acrobat and Reader group, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams and deliver world class products, with the help of multi-tiered managers reporting to youUnderstand business goals through working closely with higher management, cross functional team of Engineering, PM (Product Management), PMM (Product Marketing Management) and Experience Design teams.Drive strategy, architecture and development goals for various products based on strategic prioritiesEnsure all products and solutions are delivered within the committed scheduleChallenge the teams to innovate and deliver better productsPartner with Product Managers to define and refine the product roadmapsReview, approve and monitor project plans and schedules of productsEnsure right staffing of each development teamAct as Innovation Impetus to cultivate innovation in the teamEvangelize your products both internally and externallyEnsure adherence to Adobe policies and processes for product development as well as people managementEncourage interaction across teams, ensure reuse of technologies across products, wherever possibleParticipate in hiring top talents, for Document Cloud group as well as for broader Adobe needsWhat you need to succeedMore than 16 years’ experience working in Software development industry including at least 8 years as people managerAdept at handling multiple teams - must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a second level managerExcellent people management, communication and presentation skillsShown ability to drive innovation, deep and hands-on understanding of technologiesSelf-starter, passion to delight customers, willingness to walk above and beyondRelationships building with customers and internal stake holdersB.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science from a premiere instituteGet to know the teamThe Adobe Acrobat team is a highly skilled group of professionals dedicated to innovation in the Knowledge Worker segment, always advancing the state of the art of documents through industry leading PDF software, Acrobat.
