We’re looking for an experienced writer and marketer for our Technical Content Manager role. You’ll conceive, manage, and produce marketing collateral that explains the benefits, features and differentiators of our products from a customer-focused perspective that helps our prospects make smarter security decisions.As a key member of the content team, you’ll work on a range of technical writing projects—including white papers, technical briefs, data sheets, solution briefs and other content. This content is a cornerstone of our product marketing, sales enablement, demand generation, and SEO efforts. You’ll also act as a brand ambassador, helping to maintain brand and style consistency across all marketing channels. You’re perfect for this role if you are creative, organized, detail-obsessed, team-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment.You should know commonly used online marketing concepts, practices, and procedures, including user experience (UX), information architecture, design and content management systems and workflows.Your day-to-dayPartner with product leads, product marketers and other key stakeholders to write, edit and produce key product collateral, including data sheets, solution briefs, white papers and more.Coordinate with program managers on major marketing product launches, managing logistics, timelines and reviews.Research, write, proofread, edit and maintain product-focused content.Translate brand goals and business needs into clear, engaging, actionable content and work with information architects, designers, content owners and developers to brainstorm concepts and coordinate content and design.Maintain the Proofpoint style guide (online and print) and product descriptions used by vendors and in-house writersRequirementsExpertise in publishing technical and marketing documentation with FrameMaker or InDesign.Proven success in synthesizing complex technical concepts and communicating them clearly, concisely and on timeAbility to juggle multiple projects at once, react to changes, and re-prioritize when necessaryAbility to confidently edit content from other teams in a way that is faithful to the author’s meaning but consistent with our style guidelines and centered on and empathetic to our readersAbility to self-manage projects and work within deadlines with multiple stakeholdersProactive, can-do approach that builds bridges with other teams and overcomes obstacles in a collaborative, team-oriented mannerAbility to generate and present ideas and strategies to technical audiencesFamiliarity with the AP Stylebook and ability to master and contribute to our in-house style guideWhy ProofpointWe are wholly devoted to helping our customers protect their greatest assets and biggest security risk: their people.
