Trade Compliance Manager, Greater AsiaDescription -HP Inc.’s Trade Compliance (TC) organization develops policies, procedures, trainings, audits, and advises HP business units and functions on import and export requirements for HP's products, technologies, and services around the world.TC is looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to join our team focusing on import matters in Southeast Asia and utilization of Free Trade Agreements.This is a senior individual contributor role who will report to the TC Asia Pacific Head and work closely with a range of stakeholders such as: Logistics, Country Counsel, Finance Teams, Sales, Supply Chain counterparts, Government Affairs and more.What a Trade Compliance Manager, Greater Asia does at HP: Monitor and interpret Customs and Trade regulations applicable to HP operations and provide practical guidance to senior leadership and stakeholders.Coordinate audit/investigation/litigation activities including assessments, defensibility papers and corrective actions, incl. working with external experts when necessary.Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure implementation of Trade Compliance frameworks and Free Trade Agreements.Meets with Government officials and industry associations to advance and protect HP’s interests on a variety of trade-related matters.Identify opportunities for process improvement, develops and executes on recommendations.Develops and delivers Trade Compliance trainings. Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess: Bachelor’s degree requiredTypically 6 to 8 years of experience in dealing with Customs Compliance issues in Southeast Asia, Korea, Australia and Japan. Japanese language ability is a plus.Some international travel (20%).Knowledge of Classification rules, Country of Origin determination, Free Trade Agreement qualification and Customs Valuation methodology.Experience in influencing Customs and Trade authorities and guiding senior management on Customs/Export issues.Excellent written and oral communications skills and a proven track record of producing high quality content.Strong project and relationship management skills, with capability to engage cross functional teams in multiple geographies.Must be self-motivated, intellectually curious and manages new challenges well.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
