Job Description:The Principal Software Engineer collaborates closely with Architects and Tech Leads, playing a pivotal role in the design, execution, assessment, and troubleshooting of Systems and Applications. This encompasses configuring, coding, developing, and meticulously documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle of our extensive heterogeneous data backend applications. These applications involve numerous data sources and servers, developed, and operated by a distributed international team.This role merges healthcare and engineering concepts to create tailored data architecture and infrastructure crucial for the unique demands of the healthcare domain. It involves interfacing with medical data sources like medical claims, EHR, and Rx, designing and constructing data pipelines essential for supporting data-driven decision-making within the organization.Key Responsibilities:Construct robust RWD platforms to accommodate analytics and ML/AI for in-depth data analysis.Manage the Claim life cycle and implement strategies for adjusting and voiding claims.Develop a deep understanding of maintaining claim versions and visualize the process effectively.Oversee remit information of the claims and maintain a stable relationship with audit and statistics departments.Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and adhere to prescribed processes.Write highly efficient SQL code to meet performance and other standards.Design and implement scalable data architectures on AWS, tailored for healthcare data, utilizing services such as AWS, Snowflake, SQL, and Python.Create and maintain healthcare-specific data models, schemas, and structures to optimize data storage and retrieval.Develop and maintain ETL processes specific to medical claim and pharma data, ensuring the maintenance of claim life cycle and version methodologies.Utilize tools like PySpark and EMR for efficient processing of healthcare data.Employ Python for scripting and automation of healthcare data processes.Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to implement data processing algorithms and models.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in AWS, SQL, Python, and Snowflake.8+ years of experience in the healthcare domain.Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.Proficiency in SQL for database management and querying.Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and knowledge of relevant services.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:AWS or Snowflake certification.Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark.Familiarity with data lakes and NoSQL databases.This role necessitates a profound understanding of data nuances and a commitment to ensuring the secure and ethical handling of medical data.At Clarivate, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all persons with respect to hiring, compensation, promotion, training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.
