Data Center Customer Operations Engineer IVJob SummaryData Center Customer Operations Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting and installing advanced circuits, as well as performing custom installations. The role involves working with customers to troubleshoot issues, managing installation queues, and maintaining detailed records of all work activity. The engineer will also be involved in cross connects, documentation/reporting, infrastructure modification projects, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and precise order execution.ResponsibilitiesInstall customer equipment by racking and stackingRead and implement installation plans using Visio Drawings and SpreadsheetsInstall circuits with advanced fiber terminationsDetermine work priorities from the Oracle queue and adhere to commit timesTroubleshoot switched/multiplexed/media converted circuits, escalating to the networking group as neededCollaborate with customers to troubleshoot issuesInstall, test, and modify cross connects per SOPs, ensuring proper cable managementInstall and test advanced cross connect circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)Maintain detailed written records of all work activityDesign and lead cage/infrastructure modification projectsComplete assigned training in a timely mannerSupport customer satisfaction through timely and precise order executionQualificationsHigher Diploma or above in relevant disciplineAbout 5 years of experience in the Data Center operationExperience with BERT and SONET test equipmentEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
