We are looking for a ML Research Scientist to innovate and implement cutting edge deep learning algorithms to power future Apple products. In this role, you'll be part of a team of researchers and technical leads from ML, HW, and SW backgrounds, and will work cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and prototypers to enable shipping algorithms and experiences that improve the lives of Apple customers. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Strong signal processing knowledge Experience with state-of-the-art deep learning techniques and architectures Experience with processing and training models for time-series signals (biosignals experience is a plus) Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow Strong software development skills, with proficiency in Python and relevant libraries such as numpy, scipy Familiarity with software design principles and data structures Experience in hardware/software prototyping is a plus Experience in working with wearables is a plus Excellent leadership and communication skills Description Description This is a multi-faceted scientific role that will require you to be versatile across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. You will research and develop innovative ML strategies for challenging problems that will affect future Apple products. You will collaborate with broader teams across Apple to transfer AI/ML solutions. You will have opportunities to provide technical mentorship and guidance, prepare technical reports for publication and conference talks. You have a strong research background and have made original contributions to both basic science and to the development of novel data analytical methods. You are an expert in navigating large and noisy data sets, embrace uncertainty, and have a strong foundation in machine learning and numerical computing. You are self-motivated, excellent problem solver, and a fast learner. You are quick to forge relationships and comfortable with change and ambiguity. You have strong programming skills with tried experience crafting, prototyping, and delivering advanced algorithmic solutions. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $208,300.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
