Job Summary:Company: Festival RepublicDepartment: AccessibilityLocation: Farringdon, London and on-site at festivals during the summerReports to: Accessibility and Safeguarding CoordinatorWorking Hours: Full time working plus additional hours over weekends and evenings during the summer festival seasonContract Type: Fixed term contract until end of Sept 2024Role DescriptionThe Accessibility and Safeguarding Assistant will cover all aspects of accessibility and safeguarding at our festivals; from handling customer enquiries and applications for essential companion tickets, to assisting in liaising with our Production teams and on-site contractors to make sure our Accessible customers have the best experience possible at our festival sites. The overriding goal of this role is to ensure that all our events are accessible to all customers.In addition, they will assist in ensuring all policies and procedures are up to date, fit for purpose and adhered to, not only during the season but throughout the year, ensuring staff, contractors, artists and customers are safe from harm.The role will include collaborative working with internal stakeholders and third-party partners - for this role you will need to be comfortable working to tight deadlines, have great attention to detail and written and oral communication skills and be comfortable working with various digital platforms.Who you areCompetencies / Skills / Knowledge / ExperienceExcellent communication skills, both written and oral.Strong attention to detail, and organisational skills.Strong administration, time management skills; with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyDemonstrated experience or interest in the subject of disabled access and the issues affecting disabled customersMicrosoft Office suite skills.Knowledge of current disabled accessibility legislation and/or disability awareness training is an advantageBehavioursThe following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a successCustomer focused attitude, with the ability to deal calmly with personal and emotive communications.Confident in communicating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment against tight deadlinesFlexibility to meet the needs of the businessStrong work ethic with a can-do attitudeTeam player, and ability to remain calm under pressureWhat the role includesAccessibilityAssist in the planning, writing, and reviewing all aspects of accessibility information for all festival websites and the Accessible Customer Database; including customer information sheets, newsletters, and application closing date reminders.Liaise with and support the Accessibility Systems Coordinator to ensure the accessible requirements process is up to date and compliant.Support in the timely processing of accessible queries and applications.Support the accessibility coordinators in liaising with the Production Teams to ensure that all accessible facilities are booked in advance, and installed correctly on site, as per the agreed location and specification.Assist with the end of season debrief to review each festival with the Accessibility and Production teams - producing a debrief and access improvement plan for each festival.Constantly look to improve and expand the services and facilities offered to our accessible customers, to ensure our events are inclusive and are accessible to all customers with accessible requirements.SafeguardingSupport the Head of Safeguarding and Safeguarding Coordinator in the development and communication of the Safeguarding policies and procedures – keeping event teams informed of any changes or additions.Assist with the end of season Safeguarding debrief for each festival with the relevant Safeguarding and Production teams.Equal OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
