We achieve this by partnering closely with the product, business and engineering teams, and find opportunities that are accretive to the product roadmaps.The role, based in San Jose U.S., reports into Director, Data Science and Analytics, Focused Categories and will have 2+ direct reports and few others to mentor.What you will accomplish:Partner with product managers, business owners and engineering team across the Focused categories organization to identify and highlight opportunities to improve our focused categories initiatives and make it easier for buyers and sellers to engage more on Fashion & Collectibles Categories on eBay.Operate and function as a manager but also as an individual contributor on problems spanning across data science, product and business analytics to influence decision-making and help craft the seller experience product roadmap.In addition to delivering insights on existing Product & Tech initiatives, you will come up with creative product growth opportunities based on insights and build momentum through influence.Using strong technical skills to turn big data in Teradata and Hadoop into actionable insights and the ability to focus on the big picture and connect the dots to evaluate how the insights impact eBay’s ecosystem.Help to invest in the growth of the team members, delegate tasks appropriately, empower our teams to take ownership, and provide the support they need to succeed by providing constructive feedback, offer mentoring opportunities, and help employees develop their skills and careers.What you will bring: 10+ years’ experience and the minimum of a bachelor’s or higher degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration or Business Analytics. Master’s degree or equivalent experience.Critical thinking and hands-on analytics and data science (SQL, R, Python, Tableau etc.)Proven track record of turning insights into product growth opportunities in prior roles with growing scope and responsibilities.Good experience with both descriptive and inferential statistics – ability to build basic prototype models.Product analytics and experience with site experimentation (A/B testing).Domain expertise in ecommerce, supply chain or a related field.#LI-BB1The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.$168,400 - $262,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
