We are hiring a Senior Scientist, Cell-Based Assay (Contract) for the ASQC team. Reporting to a Principal Scientist, this position will contribute to developing and qualifying cell-based potency assays, including mRNA, AAV, and LNP release and characterization assays. This role will be based in Emeryville, California. How you’ll contribute:  Develop cell-based assays to support process development and production lot testing Execute method development, transfer, qualification, and in-house testing for final product and in-process materials Author and review SOPs, study design and protocols, technical protocols and reports, method transfer plan and reports Maintain accurate and complete documentation of any scientific experimental plan, data, and reports Operate under Good Documentation Practice for efficient data management and retrieval Follow the required regulatory standards, conform to company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Present analytical data reports clearly and concisely to senior management, including test performance metrics and trends Meet changing project demands to support process development and manufacturing activities Manage multiple tasks, prioritize project work, and effectively use available resources to meet agreed timelines. Must haves:    An undergraduate degree, an advanced degree preferred, in a cell and Molecular biology-related field  At least five years of closely related industry experience in cell-based assay development and qualification Hands-on experience in tissue culture and cell-based assay (general tissue culture, cell banking, cell proliferation, electroporation, transfection, transduction, flow cytometry, AAV, and ELISA) Experience and knowledge with gene and cell therapy, mRNA/LNP, CRISPR/Cas technology  The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Collaborative, committed and solutions-oriented California Pay Transparency Disclosure: This position is classified as a non-exempt hourly position under the Federal Labor Standards Act. The anticipated hourly rate for this position will be $77.00.
