If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.Job Description:Reporting to the Head of Government Affairs, the Director of UK Government Affairs will be responsible for building and leading Broadcom’s government affairs function in the UK, as well as potentially assisting in the development and implementation of government affairs activities in key European and Middle East (ME) markets. This individual will develop and manage a government affairs strategy thatEffectively narrates Broadcom’s story to key policy makers, regulators, industry trade associations, and other stakeholdersBuilds support for the company’s interest and strategic objectivesLeverages a robust network of relationships and a sophisticated understanding of policy and regulatory processes to increase Broadcom’s UK footprintDESIRED OUTCOMES Success in this role will be measured by his/her ability to:Effectively tell Broadcom’s story and anticipate issues and/or players that may challenge the narrativeDevelops support for Broadcom’s business interests by building and advancing relationships with key policymakers and regulatorsEstablish and build the footprint, visibility and impact of Broadcom’s government affairs function in the UK, and possibly key markets in Europe and the ME. This will include developing and utilizing resources and key internal and external relationships needed to grow and sustain a high-performing operation and achieve identified goalsIDEAL EXPERIENCE 7-10 years of progressive experience in government affairs and/or the UK policy community, preferably including as a member of a technology companyEstablished relationships and access to key stakeholders in the UK and possibly key European markets, including but not limited to France and Spain. This includes policymaking and regulatory bodies relevant to the technology industryDeep understanding of legislative and regulatory processes relevant to the technology industry  A track-record of developing and advancing a government affairs strategyA proven ability to succeed as an independent operator and builder who excels at developing and executing the full range of activities as part of developing and advancing a strategic government affairs strategyUndergraduate degree; advanced degree a plusCRITICAL LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES Relationship-Building & Influencing. The successful candidate will be a natural networker who will maintain and cultivate relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.  Specifically, this individual will:Internally, serve as a credible “voice” and high-performing executive who drives results.Externally, identify, cultivate, and leverage strategic stakeholder relationships, creating value-add opportunities to raise Broadcom’s visibility in London and protect the company’s business interests in the public policy and regulatory arenasDemonstrate the ability to work effectively and maintain credibility with policymakers and regulators irrespective of party, as well as the ability to anticipate and identify substantive risks to Broadcom’s business before they have an actual impactStrategic Advocacy. This individual will add impact and value by:Working with the Head of Government Affairs in developing a strategic government affairs plan that builds and expands the role, visibility, and impact of Broadcom’s government affairs function in a measurable way, includes leveraging, coordinating with, and reviewing results or ROI with business leaders, particularly the public sector business, on a regular basisIn executing a government affairs strategy, this individual will demonstrate a self-starting, proactive mindset and the ability to see “around corners” and “the big picture,” while focusing on accomplishing immediate goals and objectives.
