This is a remote position that is based in the Eastern United States. Purpose: Calix cloud and software platforms enable MSO/Cable operators to simplify, innovate and transform their business from standard HFC/DOCSIS architectures to industry leading fiber solutions. This enables them to grow through increased subscriber acquisition, loyalty and revenue, thereby increasing the value of their business and contributions to their communities.Calix enables MSO/Cable operators, of all sizes, to simplify, innovate and grow.Core Requirements:Calix is looking for a dynamic self-starter to join our MSO/Cable team as a Senior Sales Engineer (SSE). Candidates will possess a tenacious work ethic, doing “whatever it takes” with resolve, integrity, and an appropriate sense of urgency to meet deadlines and get the job done. You will be responsible for the success of some of Calix’s largest accounts providing pre-sales support, solutions design and pricing to ensure successful integration.As a Senior Sales Engineer, MSO/Cable, you will be pivoting between credible technical discussions while distilling technical concepts into simple business language for senior management. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to elicit the end-to-end Calix value chain in a consultative way.  The Senior Sales Engineer also plays a critical role in developing relationships and influencing decisions with our customers. As such, you will provide hands-on demonstrations of Calix’s product capabilities and plan, organize and conduct lab and field trials.This position is responsible for all business development and pre-sales technical engagements related to MSO/Cable operators in the Eastern U.S.Day-to-Day Responsibilities and Duties: Primary pre-sales technical support of Calix’s solutionsPreparation of all technical material differentiating Calix solutions from DOCSIS technology and industry competitors in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager/SE ManagementIn partnership with the SM, deliver advice and consultation along with presentations and material to customers and prospective opportunities utilizing a consultative selling approach.Assist in the configuration and testing of products in lab and field trials as directed by the customer or prospect.Thought leader and influencer of Calix solutions while also staying current with external technologies and trends. Leverage this expertise to the benefit of both our clients and internal teams.Assist in the preparation and response of RFx’s.Drive incremental revenue by establishing long-term, trusted relationships at assigned accounts.Actively discuss short-term and future product requirements for all MSO/Cable opportunities with SE Management/PLLFully understand and contribute to the overall Calix MSO/Cable sales strategy.Qualifications:Uniquely talented and highly intelligent with a results-oriented mindset.Self-starter with a reputation for being an effective change agent.Tenacious work ethic, doing “whatever it takes” with resolve, integrity, and an appropriate sense of urgency to meet deadlines and get the job done.Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of synthesizing and interpreting complex issues into solutions and the ability to effectively work with multiple audiences and levels across organizations.Demonstrated ability to establish and solidify strategic relationships with key customers.Excellent presentation, written communication, and public speaking skills at all levelsBSEE/BSCS preferred.Experience working with MSO/Cable operators preferred - speak our customer’s language, know their systems, their challenges and objectives.Strong technical familiarity with L2/L3 access network architectures.Solid understanding of SaaS cloud-based solutions.Technical familiarity with Wi-Fi systems and a strong understanding of Wi-Fi standards and managed services.Knowledge of Business Support Systems (BSS) related to operations and integration.Strong experience with PON-based architectures.Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to L2/L3 deployment architectures.Prior experience partnering with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement in product, education and training, testing methods and demonstrations.Travel expectations: In region travel up to 50% on average required to support customer engagements.Location: This position is remote and requires candidate to reside in the Eastern U.S.#LI-RemoteCompensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States.
