Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Need to be familiar with aspects of SoC implementation/design including floorplan layout, knowledge of current industry IP blocks and I/O integration. Foundry identification and technology node identification techniques and methodologies. Building blocks such as standard cells, libraries, methodologies for identification and when / where vendors use these. PC Desktop and Laptop SoC vendors, smartphone and tablet SoC vendors, including products and verticals. Good understanding of PCB design, electrical circuits and component layout. Strong fundamentals in mechanics and consumer electronics system level architectures. Experience parsing failure analysis products with a competitive analysis mentality - CTs, X-Rays, system block diagrams - able to quickly understand and describe a system from SoC - end product. Ability to identify and build relationships with key stakeholders to deliver analysis based solutions and proposals, on occasion orthogonal to established norms. Description Description Apple’s Platform Architecture group is looking for a motivated, highly detail oriented Engineer with robust engineering fundamentals in mechanics, material science, heat transfer, mechanism design and SoC integration into a larger system. The team member should have excellent cross functional communication skills and a genuine passion for consumer electronics. Education & Experience Education & Experience BS degree and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience. Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Passion for the consumer electronics industry, desire to research and keep up with leading edge technologies and how they function. Consumer electronic display technologies and circuits, including microLED, miniLED, 2D backlight LCD, and OLED display families. Hands-on detailed product design or failure analysis experience in consumer electronics products are a plus. Familiarity with SoC marketplace, including market players. Basic shell / command line scripting experience Need to be familiar with aspects of ASIC integration including floorplan, knowledge of current industry IP blocks and I/O integration. Good understanding of PCB design, electrical circuits and component layout. Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
