In this role, you’ll be a key financial professional responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, implementing accounting policies, and providing technical expertise on complex accounting issues. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and senior management to maintain accurate financial reporting and uphold the integrity of financial information. Successful candidates will possess a combination of strong accounting and reporting knowledge and an ability to dive into unknown problems and devise creative solutions. This position will report to the Senior Director of Finance & Accounting and come with a broad range of responsibilities on a small team. The successful candidate will have a "roll-up-the-sleeves'' attitude, be able to multitask and be ready to thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of technical accounting and financial reportingLead implementation and execution of accounting policies and procedures following US GAAPStrong breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in stock-based compensation, foreign currency transactions, lease accounting, business combinations, cash flows, and software capitalizationOversee equity accounting, including coordination with legal and shareholder servicesStay informed of emerging accounting pronouncements and ensure their timely adoptionAdvise on the accounting treatment and support project management of strategic transactionsPrepare quarterly and annual financial statements for leadership, investors, and the board of directorsConduct financial analysis and offer assistance to investor relations in crafting earnings releasesAct as a primary point of contact with external auditors during annual audit of the financial statementsProactively partner with legal, tax, FP&A, product and engineering to provide expertise in support of new transactions and evolving changes to the business to achieve mutually beneficial outcomesIdentify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial reporting processKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license6+ years of accounting experience, ideally a blend of Big 4 public accounting and industry experienceSignificant experience in the technical accounting and financial reporting roleIn-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulationsIFRS experience preferred, although not requiredProactive work ethic, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong organization, time management and project management skillsAgility to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment Superior communication skills to effectively communicate complex accounting conceptsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work cross-functionally to obtain all relevant facts, understand the business requirements, articulate the accounting requirements and communicate the conclusions reachedPreferred Qualifications:Experience with NetSuite, Workiva and Schwab software preferred, although not requiredAdvanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills requiredProject management and supervisory experienceThe talent and dedication of our employees are at the core of DataRobot’s journey to be an iconic company.
