Help us redefine Search at eBay.Job Responsibilities:Seek scientifically valid solutions that deliver real value to eBay customersCarry out statistical analyses on large and messy dataGuide the process to build machine learning models and data pipelines to deliver insightful yet practical solutionsWork with multiple teams to help promote standard scientific methodologies and processes in your fieldPresent key technical and novel research work in public forums and conferencesDrive impact with technical innovations to solve real world problems at eBay with optimized solutionsStay up to date with latest technological developments with Information Theory and Machine LearningBasic QualificationsMS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent5+ years (with PhD) or 8+ years (with MS) of industrial experience in a related fieldIndustrial experience with all of the following: classification, regression,  GBM, recommendation systems, clustering,  DeepLearning/Neural NetworksIndustrial experience with one or more of the following: NLP, Computer Vision, Multimodal Modeling , Large Language Modeling, Embedding based Retrieval Experience in big data processing, e.g. Hadoop, SQL, SparkExperience with Python, and Java or Scala or C/C++ . Familiarity with frameworks such as Pytorch, tensorflow or JAX 5+ or more related publications in quality conferences or journals1+ patents grantedThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.$168,400 - $262,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
