Collaborate across multiple disciplines of software and hardware to deliver a system that is seamless to setup and control. Work with embedded software development tools to test and data analytics. Build the test cases, test automation, test infrastructure and telemetry system to enable continuous, high-quality releases, which deliver new functionality directly to Sonos customers. Collaborate with other team members to deliver features that are well implemented, tested, and documented at the end of each sprint. Review requirements, behavior specifications, and design documents to begin test development early and uncover issues prior to implementation. Proactively work with the development team to investigate logs, debug both software and hardware issues, and triage bugs to determine root cause and establish prioritization. Expand, improve and maintain existing automated regression test suites. Define and implement system telemetry, and conduct data analysis to objectively measure real world product usage, performance and reliability. Use finding to drive for product and testing improvements. Drive across team effort to improve automation testing effort and strategy. Work with the vendor team to improve overall QA efficiency. May work from anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:       Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in the offered position or related position.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time". Required expertise/knowledge includes:Understanding of software test engineering principles, tools, techniques, and execution, with an emphasis on automation;Problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills;Understanding of software design fundamentals, including data-structures, algorithms, and design patterns, in a modern programming language (like Python);Experience in design and development of automation frameworks and automation testing strategies;Experience with source control, continuous integration servers, issue tracking and collaboration tools, including Perforce, Git, Jenkins, Jira, or Confluence;Experience in computer networking knowledge.Defining and implementing software test plans, as well as automation, for embedded systems.OTHER:  Salary range: $152,000 per year to $203,000 per yearJOB LOCATION:       Sonos, Inc.614 Chapala StreetSanta Barbara, CA 93101If offered employment, must have legal right to work in U.S. **Must reference JOB CODE#: PB1009 when applying.  At Sonos we consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may lead  individual compensation to vary depending on job related qualifications, skills, and experience.  All full time employees are eligible for merit increases, discretionary bonuses, and equity.  Our job postings may span more than one career level and the base pay range may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions.
