This position is ideal for someone passionate about using data to inform decisions and eager to apply their SQL, Python, data visualization, and data analytics skills in a real-world setting. The intern will work closely with our team to analyze complex datasets, create insightful visualizations, and contribute to policy planning initiatives.WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DOAnalyze the state of projects and provide regular status reports that are objective and reflect the true state of progress.Manage multiple initiatives at once and prioritize based on business needs and urgency.Monitor and analyze patterns related to fraud and implement preventive measures. Research and remain current with industry fraud trends recommending preventative measures as necessary.Great communication that allows you to interact with a diverse set of technical and non-technical partners.Participate in industry conferences and forums to stay connected with industry trends and practices. Establish partnerships and collaborate with other organizations in the ticketing industry to share insights and collectively combat fraud.Quick learner with the ability to interpret business challenges, create process mapping, analyze potential improvements, and translate these into best practices and solutions.Support the Global Fraud Prevention team in performing complex analysis and/or modeling to identify patterns or trends of fraud and chargeback activity.WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRINGAn innate ability to establish relationships and cultivate effective collaboration across wide groups of people.Self-motivated and able to manage and adapt to competing priorities with no supervisory inputResourceful and constructive thinker, able to problem solve, pivot, and navigate uncertainty to find solutionsPossesses excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal and influencing skills (at all levels internally, externally, and cross-functionally)Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program related to Data Science, Computer Science, Public Policy, or a related field.Strong foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL and Python.Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.Demonstrated interest in data analytics, policy planning, or related fields.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.RESPONSIBILITIES Analyzes transactional activity, confirmed fraud orders, and link unidentified transactions and accounts to known fraudulent activityPerform activities and other duties and responsibilities specific to department functions as required.Research and remain current with industry fraud trends recommending preventative measures as necessary.Utilize SQL for data querying, extraction, and manipulation from various databasesAssist in the analysis of data to inform policy planning and decision-making processes.Contribute to the development of data-driven recommendations for policy strategies and interventionsParticipate in team meetings and collaborative sessions to contribute ideas and insights.Receive mentorship from experienced professionals in the fields of data analytics, policy planning, and strategic decision-makingCreate compelling data visualizations using tools such as Snowflake or Tableau to communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.Collaborate with the data analytics team to design and implement interactive dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders.Job posting will close Thursday, April 4th, 2024.
