As Lab Operations Manager you will support development of thin-film devices for consumer electronics applications. Daily activities are to oversee the operation of fabrication and metrology test equipment and the effective use of support personnel. This includes enhancement of lab process and metrology capabilities to meet the requirement of existing and future programs. This is a fast-paced project! A successful manager needs to be comfortable with constantly evolving priorities and is a thoughtful and nimble problem solver. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experience in thin-film fabrication, metrology, test, data acquisition in a product development environment. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, prioritize and communicate status of work activities. Experience in hiring and building teams comprised of full-time, contract, direct and indirect personnel. Proven experience of management experience in directing multiple activities with different levels of support personnel. Description Description • Lead a team of process technicians to implement builds and experiments. • Assume oversight of lab operations. This includes management of raw materials and inventories, unit processes and device integration. • Manage tracking / schedule system that can be used to determine resource availability, build timing, and assist in future facility planning. • Work with internal multi-functional teams to integrate new device designs and advanced technologies. • Ensure proper level of staffing, training, and resource coordination to support builds and experiments. • Work with internal personnel and external suppliers to maintain and optimize fabrication equipment: deposition systems, ovens, cutting lasers, packaging systems and associated metrology tools. • Implement and improve on operating software, data handing, data traceability and lab facility infrastructure. • Develop and implement applicable standard operating procedures related to fabrication, measurement, and test processes. Education & Experience Education & Experience BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience. MS preferred. Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Minimal travel to vendors, suppliers and pilot / production line facilities expected. <5% Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,400.00 and $289,800.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
