You’ll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. We are searching for an extraordinary individual who can help us with tomorrow’s challenges! In this role, you will take ownership in engineering level camera module characterization for design validation and failure analysis. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Deep understanding of camera image quality metrics and evaluation methodology Expertise in development of characterization setups involving camera, laser, temperature control, custom mechanical and electrical hardwares; and familiar with mechanical tolerance analysis Expertise using Matlab, Python, C#, or C++ for lab equipment control and data collection Expertise in image processing and quantitative imaging analysis with Matlab or Python Experience with camera actuator design and validation Experience with control systems and sensing systems (magnetic sensing preferred) Experience with analog and digital electronics Experience with CMOS image sensors technology Experience with 3D CAD mechanical design for fixtures is a plus Experience with board level circuit debug and soldering is a plus Experience supporting volume manufacturing of camera systems is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid collaboration and leadership skills. - Evaluate new actuator technology, new camera lens design, or new sensor/EE/ME design in camera prototypes, and throughly and rigorously characterize image quality, auto-focus and image stabilization performance.
- Define and implement characterization and validation plans, develop quantitative metrics and analysis to evaluate performance, develop new test equipment and procedures

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500.00 and $243,300.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
