Job Requisition ID #24WD77040Position OverviewThe Digital Customer Experience (DXC) team's Customer Success domain is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend. You will report into Senior Manager, Engineering. You will focus on delivering reliable and scalable backend API services to support the frontend web experiences for our customers, providing new ways for them to interact with Autodesk. You will help contribute to the backend development of our Learn platform, using Node.js, Java, Python, Docker and other web and DevOps technologies. This requires understanding complex requirements, back-office systems, and user experience flows, all while delivering a feature-rich support platform to have direct impact on our customers.ResponsibilitiesHelp design and implement well-architected and scalable service web architectures through the evaluation, integration and deployment of open source and commercial componentsDesign, code, test, debug and document our functional components to ensure that software meets business, quality and operational needsBuild high-quality code following unit testing and test-driven developmentEvaluate and address issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility of the systemsPromote and participate in code and document reviews, providing mentoring where it makes senseCollaborate with peer organizations and support organizations on technical issues and provide guidanceInterpret and translate our needs to technical requirements and accurate estimatesRecommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance is achievedWork with team to troubleshoot code level problemsApply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problemsFocus on scalability, security and availability of all applications and processesContribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable and maintainable softwareContribute to risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architectureContribute to technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve strategic goals and requirementsMinimum QualificationsBS/ MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience6+ years hands-on backend experience developing scalable, reliable backend API services and software applications4+ years experience with Node jsExperience with back-end programming in a Java environment or PythonExperience working with React web frameworksExperience designing, and building REST APIs, web servicesExperience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and writing build scriptsExperience with Git, JenkinsExperience with Amazon Web Services (i.e. EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, CloudFormation, and others) or similar cloud infrastructureUnderstanding of PCI compliance and security best practicesFamiliarity with responsive web designThe Ideal CandidateYou enjoy partnering with UX, QA, product, analytics, and any other involved teams to ensure the best final resultYou see the future impact of server-side frameworks and are excited to solve the opportunities and challenges they presentYou think that microservices and well-defined APIs are superior to monolithic applicationsYou are interested in DevOps and the benefits of a strong CI/CD pipelineYou write clean, testable code and help others do it tooYou are comfortable with Agile and participating in sprint ceremoniesLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! Join us!Salary transparencySalary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,300 and $190,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $98,600 and $144,650. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
