Manager, Publication Selection Strategy

We are looking for a Manager, Publication Selection Strategy (journals) to join our editorial team in Belgrade. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to further their knowledge of the publishing landscape and to contribute to the growth and curation of the Web of Science.About the Team   You will be reporting to a Senior Manager, Publication Selection Strategy.We are a global team of more than 25 colleagues based in USA, UK, Spain, Serbia, and India.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments Bachelor’s degree or equivalentSeven years’ relevant experience, including five years in a journal editorial or publishing role within the scholarly publishing industry, particularly in the physical, applied or biomedical science and two years of leadership experienceAbility to direct complex, data-driven analyses and give clear guidance and recommendationsProven experience in customer-facing situations that require the requisite diplomacy, discretion, and professionalismExcellent English language verbal and written skills to effectively and accurately communicate complex information and data internally and externallyProven experience of sharing knowledge and information with colleagues to support their own work and decision-makingStrong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills & meticulous attention to detail and accurate record keepingFamiliarity using Web of Science It would be great if you also had . . .  Experience of working in a large, global team that requires decision-making and delegation in a matrix environmentFamiliarity using JCR and InCitesKnowledge of publishing conventions in the physical, applied, or biomedical sciencesWillingness to embrace changeWhat will you be doing in this role? Lead a team of 3-5 in-house Editors in the evaluation of journals in line with the Web of Science selection criteriaMonitor and lead achievement of team and individual KPIsProvide support for in-house Editors to help ensure all editorial decisions are data-based, fair and consistent; review and approve editorial decisions made by in-house EditorsEnsure inquiries from publishers are investigated, resolved, and responded toBe accountable for coverage-related decisions and ensure these are clearly communicated to journal publishersCollaborate within the Web of Science editorial team to ensure efficiency and consistency & work with editorial leadership on complex cases and contribute to team-wide decision-makingActively participate in team discussions about policy, process, and workflowsKeep up with developments in the publishing industry that could influence Web of Science editorial processesHours of Work  From 9 am to 5 pm CET, full-time employment.We Offer:Holidays: 25 days paid leave per annum Private Health Insurance Paid Lunch Yearly Bonus Yearly Merit Plan My Learning Platform Fit Pass Life InsuranceAccident InsuranceCompany bicycles for rent free of chargeOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.At Clarivate, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all persons with respect to hiring, compensation, promotion, training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.
