Summary Posted: Mar 25, 2024 Role Number: 200544311 We are seeking a motivated, technical Quality Engineer to test and validate Apple’s haptic firmware, software, and algorithms for next generation devices including iPhone, Watch, and beyond. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Strong knowledge of validation strategies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven skill in bug hunting and regression testing Description Description Owning the quality of haptics firmware, software, and algorithms in embedded applications Hunting down bugs, clearly and concisely documenting issues, and tenaciously driving them to resolution Developing and executing intelligent automated and manual test cases Working multi-functionally to drive quality and communicate results Writing comprehensive test guidelines from engineering specifications and data sheets Provide subjective feedback on a variety of user-facing experiences Building and utilizing innovative testing methodologies, including using external fixtures Using diagnostic software and hardware to isolate and debug complex issues Developing automation frameworks and tools to interact with devices under test Analyzing field data to help inform future feature design Testing the full SW, FW, HW stack to drive the best possible customer experience YOU WILL BE A MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL WHO: Independently follows up on issues Is comfortable collaborating with developers to resolve low level issues Understands and discusses highly technical issues with developers Thoroughly analyzes how new features or designs impact the customer experience Education & Experience Education & Experience BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Track record of shipping great consumer facing products Use of hardware debugging tools – Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, DAQs Experience with test automation using Python, Bash, Swift, C++, AppleScript, or other scripting language Experience with embedded software architecture and languages such as C, Objective C, C++ Experience with signal processing and data analysis in Matlab or other numerical computing environments Experience developing and deploying test automation tools and frameworks Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
