We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Software Engineer in our Furnishing Platform team to build scalable systems and data pipelines to power our consumer credit reporting. You will partner closely with our Product, Compliance, Servicing, and Credit teams to design robust reporting systems. The systems you will work on are vital for delivering accurate and timely data from Affirm’s financial product portfolio to Consumer Reporting Agencies.

What You'll Do
Partner with Product stakeholders align on roadmaps, strategy, and vision for the Furnishing Platform engineering team
Lead technical decisions, projects, and roadmaps within the Furnishing Platform team & beyond
Collaborate with other technical leads, management, and stakeholders across the organization to design and implement solutions that go beyond team scope and require cross-functional collaboration
Conduct technical and soft skill evaluations to inform and influence our hiring decisions
Lead and mentor engineers to help them succeed and grow. Provide them with the right context and train them to take ownership of their respective pieces of our initiatives
Build and integrate data pipelines from a wide variety of products and systems
Develop a deep understanding of the systems and cash flows which power Affirm
Mentor engineers on the team to help improve their designs, code quality, and testing
Partner with product managers and accountants to design best-in-class systems and processes to reconcile and report
Partner with a diverse set of engineering teams who build financial products and perform financial transactions at Affirm
What We Look For
7+ years of software development experience
Strong sense of ownership with a proven track record of successfully driving large cross-functional technical programs.
Drive to change consumer financial services for the better
Fluency in back end development, event processing, and batch processing
Prior experience in designing, building, launching, and maintaining consumer scale products
Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of Python, Spark, Airflow, AWS, and Snowflake is a plus
Knowledge of basic accounting principles is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive package, with some highlights listed below. This role has a potential sign-on bonus of up to 10% of your base salary. Eligibility is determined at the offer stage.
Pay Grade - POL31
Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.
POL base pay range per year:
Min: 309,500 zł
Mid: 386,800 zł
Max: 464,200 zł
