From on-prem to the cloud, companies can get the IT asset data needed to rightsize, reallocate spend, reduce risk and maximize ROI. Flexera Software is looking for a seasoned Senior Software Development Engineer to be part of the development team for our IT Asset Management (ITAM) endpoint applications used to collect inventory and usage data from an enterprise’s environment.What you'll do:Design, implement and unit test solutions.Contribute to the architectural and design decisions within the team.Work closely with other members of the team and wider engineering organization on design iterations, code reviews, security, performance, testability, and inter-operability.Work closely with Technical Support to resolve customer issues. Investigate, analyze, and fix identified defects.Debug complex problems reported by customers, automation failures and resolve them with appropriate release vehicles.Support the team’s culture of respect, excellence, and trust; confidently promote our team’s principles and culture across the organization.Ensure we employ fantastic testing and QA processes to minimize the risk of escaped defects.You'll be expected to have:4.5 years professional experience as a software engineerBachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Software Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.Expertise in object-oriented design using C# .NET and WinForms and Windows Services.Experience building and using REST APIs.Experience of Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development.Experience with MSSQL and SQLite databases.Ability to effectively work with a globally distributed team.Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently within and between teams.Strong problem-solving skills.Agile delivery experience and a willingness to work closely in an agile development model.The following personal qualities are desired:Passionate about self-learning.Highly motivated and relentless in solving problems.Demonstrates a natural creativity in completing technical tasks.Prepared to go the extra mile when the team is up against it.Achieves the right balance of confidence and respect.Challenges the status quo when necessary.Highly desirable technical skills would include some experience with the following tools, technologies, and frameworks:JenkinsJiraGitC++Virtualization technologies: VMWare, Oracle Virtualization Manager etc.Internet Information ServicesFamiliarity with SSL certificates, proxies and WinHttp.Experience in building with open-source code such as OpenSSL, Nmap, and PuTTY.Understanding of database connectivity, including ODBC and connection strings.Proficiency in troubleshooting network-related issues.The role will offer you in return:A rare opportunity to be part of a team developing products integral to the ITAM solution.A team which values trust and community.At Flexera, we foster a fun and engaged hybrid working environment where collaboration and innovation thrive.
