With significant investment agreed to internationalise our sports technology, we are looking for strong, strategic leadership across key markets. The Director, Sports Business Development will be responsible for working with our International team and our local sales teams to drive growth in sports, and ensure smooth delivery of sports technology and services.The Director, Sports Business Development will be responsible for creating and driving a strategic approach to business development and working with our Product and Technology teams to shape our future offering across multiple markets.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Work with Sales teams across Microflex markets to shape our sports sales strategy in those marketsDevelop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ and prospects’ needs in the sports segmentMaintain an understanding of the opportunities in sport, using Salesforce and other tools to have a comprehensive viewRemain knowledgeable about our competitors in the sports segment, and use that knowledge to inform our strategyBuild and maintain senior level relationships with key strategic clients in Microflex marketsWork closely with the rest of the international sports leadership to ensure knowledge sharing and strategic alignment where relevantAct as the principal stakeholder for the sports technology strategy in Microflex markets, working with stakeholders across Product and Technology to deliver the technology strategy.Drive the rollout of new Products and Features in the Microflex markets, working with the VP Operations, InternationalWork with the VP Operations, International to create and build a support model for the sports technology strategy in Microflex markets, including first line support and training.Develop and bring to market sales materials in support of the sports technology strategy in Micoflex markets, working alongside sales teams, product marketing and B2B marketing.Represent the company at industry conferences and events as needed to grow our sports business.Work with the sales teams in Microflex markets to create targets and measure growth in the sports business.Provide regular, comprehensive reporting and communication on the sports business in Microflex markets to a variety of stakeholders.Own, maintain and evolve the business case around the sports technology investment in Microflex markets.Create a robust and compelling sales strategy, aligning all areas of the business development and marketing teams to deliver that strategy.Deliver growth in the client base, growing our market share and profitability in key European markets.Work with the UK Sports leadership to explore where commercial partnerships can be extended into European markets to drive revenue and client retention.Work with the VP Operations to ensure best practice is adopted across the sales and marketing teams in order to ensure we maximise the commercial opportunities and grow our market share.Provide regular updates to senior management on the commercial activities of the sports division in a variety of forums and format.Explore ways to broaden the services that the business delivers to European sports clients, and drive through a strategy to both sell and deliver those services with the goal of increasing levels of revenue and contribution.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Proven ability to deliver outstanding strategic leadership to an experienced team of professionals.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.Understanding of the sports industry, and how different entities and stakeholders are involved.Understanding of the ticketing industry and its importance within live sport.Ability to create and deliver a compelling narrative about the Ticketmaster proposition.Past experience of negotiating high value commercial contracts.Analytical approach to business and strategic decision-making.Able to build relationships at all levels.Able to work with multiple stakeholders across markets and technology.YOU Are passionate about live sport.Are an ambitious and capable leader who strives for continuous improvement.Excel at building relationships, both internally and externally, at all levels.Are a great communicator, both orally and in presentations.Have a strong understanding of technology in the sector.Are open, approachable and a have an aptitude for bringing team members together to shape and deliver strategic goals.Are happy in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, where technology and innovation is as important as people and service.CULTURETicketmaster, part of Live Nation Entertainment is the largest live entertainment company in the world, consisting of four core business areas: Concerts, Ticketing, Artist Nation and Sponsorship & AdvertisingLive Nation seeks to innovate and enhance the live entertainment experience for artists and fans: before, during and after the show.LIFE AT TICKETMASTERWe are proud to be a part of Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s largest live entertainment company.Our vision at Ticketmaster is to connect people around the world to the live events they love.
