Summary Posted: Mar 20, 2024 Role Number: 200542566 In this position you will be responsible for Apple battery testing robotic automation systems’ machine vision applications, developments, and implementations! This position requires clear understanding of machine vision requirements for samples with large varieties of form factors, colors, and defects variations! Based on these requirements you should be able to design, develop and validate machine vision algorithms with state of art machine vision languages and hardware available. The candidate should have very solid understanding and experience with optics, sensing and lighting technologies. You should demonstrate strong capabilities to compile detailed specifications based on machine vision requirements Lastly, when unique or more timely test solutions are called for, you should expect to apply hands on, design, build, test, and detail your complete solution from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate is machine vision engineer with background and experience with robotic automation equipment, machine vision systems on large volume production lines, calibration methods, data acquisition, data management, data analysis and reporting. Good communication skills are required to collaborate with vendors for machine vision solution developments and implementations. Abilities to analyze, summarize, and present data to team members and management are expected. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Solid understanding in machine vision hardware and software applications especially Cognex machine vision systems. Experience with large volume manufactures (semiconductor and consumer electronic preferred) production line machine vision applications and technologies. Experience with vision system integration with PLC, IPC and robots. Familiar with vision guided robotic applications and solving skills. Deep understanding with equipment machine vision equipment development process, specification and validation methods. Strong project management capabilities including vendor managements, task tracking, timeline management, qualification planning. Hands on experience with machine vision system design, lab test build, vision algorithm development and solving. Strong data collection and analysis capabilities. JMP and/or Tableau knowledge is a huge plus. Experience with Asian vendors management for equipment development is a huge plus. Description Description - Strong background and understanding of image acquisition process in digital imaging systems including optics, sensors, lighting in different applications.
- Deep knowledge with Cognex machine vision hardware and software applications including Cognex In-Sight, Cognex VisionPro, Cognex VisionPro Deep Learning, Cognex 2D and 3D machine vision systems.
- Experience with Cognex machine vision tools including pattern matching, blob, caliper, line location, image filtering, optical character recognition and verification (OCR and OCV).
- Capability for Cognex vision software scripting and programming with C# or VB is a huge plus.
- Lead and coordinate all Apple battery testing automation tools’ vision system design, validation, and developments.
- Compile detailed vision system requirements in tool ERS.
- Responsible for new tools’ FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests) vision system testing and solving.
- Fully digest all existing automation tools’ vision algorithms regarding design logic, error handling, vision-PLC, vision-IPC, vision-robot communication protocols.
- Capable to improve or overhaul existing vision algorithms to provide new and enhanced machine vision features and capabilities.
- Mentorship to vendor and control vendor machine vision algorithms quality for vision system developments with hands on testing and validations.
- Capable to build and set up in house machine vision test environment. Solid understanding with machine vision hardware selections for different machine vision applications in regard to camera, light source, barcode reader and software suite selections.
- Validate vendor proposals in house with the newest Apple battery form factors and provide mentorship for improvements.
- Develop detailed design validation plans.
- Implement design validation activity and resolve if apparatus meets specifications.
- Uncover design related issues and communicate them clearly to the team and vendor(s). The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
