In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and developing an open, scalable, low-latency controller for 5G radio access networks. You will also contribute to designing and implementing developer APIs and SDKs that will allow 3rd-party developers to build intelligent applications for 5G networks using the controller. Your work will help accelerate innovation in 5G networks and make it an even more ubiquitous foundation for our digital connected lives. In the process, you will work and innovate with the latest technologies in cloud, networking and 5G, collaborate closely with experts in these fields, experience first-hand the process of building a new product, and work in an environment that provides ample learning and career growth opportunities. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 3-6 months you will work toward completing? As a key member of the R&D engineering team, you will drive the architecture, design, implementation, optimization and testing of an open, scalable, low-latency controller for 5G radio access networks. The technical success of your contributions will be defined in terms of control-plane messaging throughput, control-plane latency, platform robustness, conformance to industry-defined interfaces, ability to deploy and host variety of in-house and 3rd-party control applications and footprint of the product in terms of compute, memory and network requirements/utilization. Within 15 days of joining, you will be expected to ramp up on the product architecture and high-level design details of the existing components. You will be expected to deliver a few simple bug fixes or small features to gain familiarity with the development process.
