You'll be responsible for writing and maintaining scripts as well as supporting our automation tools – all of which are critical to the deployment of the Workday Enterprise Business Services. In addition to this you will be involved in upgrading, patching, executing and monitoring the processes that keep the Workday Service up and running in all environments: production, sandbox, and implementation. You'll do everything from deploying/configuring new services, migrations of existing services, creating scripts, applying patches and updates to all our systems using automation tools all while ensuring that we continue to meet our SLAs.About the RoleYou will be responsible for preparing, automating, monitoring, triaging, refining and executing weekly maintenance and tenant management activitiesCreate comprehensive runbooks for both Maintenance Window orchestration and issue remediation creating the specification for automation and self-healing.Design autonomic Maintenance Window orchestrations for idempotency, and schedule for execution at a predetermined future date/timeCollaborate with peers & teams across the business to drive the future direction of improvements to key business functions related to the weekly maintenance windowParticipate in rostered cyclical weekend work & a flexible working scheduleBe passionate about modern technologies and advocate for innovative approaches to existing systems or work practicesWork in a collaborative environment, openly sharing your knowledge with others and you enjoy learning from others too!This position will be Wednesday-Saturday.About YouBasic Qualifications: 4+ years of SRE experience in a distributed systems environment.3+ years experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure3+ years experience with Kubernetes2+ years experience with Ansible & Jenkins.Proficiency with a programming language such as Python, or Ruby, CHEF and Git plus. Working Knowledge of Apache Tomcat, Zookeeper and Openstack.Strong Linux admin, Bash/shell scripting skills.The ability to work some nights and weekends is required as part of the patch support rotation and on-call duties.Other Qualifications:BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience.Experience handling and solving distributed systems in a public cloud, Passionate automator, with a track record of reference-able examples.Experienced with software development standard methodologies such as code management, CI/CD, testingCan work independently and with the demeanor that everything can be automated.Skills and enthusiasm to operate, maintain, support and sustain the platform.Excited by working in a fast-paced environment. Experience collaborating with multi-functional global and remote teams with a diverse set of backgrounds.Excellent documentation skills, experience with developing detailed run books, processesTakes ownership of tasks and drives to resolution.Strong Troubleshooting skills.
