Scope: We are seeking a skilled desktop/laptop engineer with a minimum of 5+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, troubleshooting, and upgrading desktop and laptop systems within our organization. The role requires strong technical expertise in hardware and software, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and part of a team. The Desktop/Laptop Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our desktop/laptop infrastructure. You will be a person of BY Associate’s trust. They will rely on you to provide timely and accurate solutions to their technical issues & Incidents. Our current technical environment: Provide advanced technical support for Windows client operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11, resolving hardware and software issues promptly. Utilize Windows Imaging/OS deployment tools such as WDS, MDT, and SCCM to deploy and manage operating system images globally. Possess good knowledge of the Macintosh platform (10.5 onwards), including application installation and support. Utilize strong hardware troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware issues, coordinating with vendors for hardware replacement when necessary. Provide support for Microsoft Office products, including Office 365 and Office 2013, assisting users with installation and troubleshooting. Perform advanced system troubleshooting and application troubleshooting, including event log analysis, disk space checks, and error/failure log analysis. Manage asset inventory and tracking, utilizing tools such as Lansweeper and SCCM to create queries and reports based on organizational requirements. Handle incidents and service requests based on priority, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction. Strong in problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Provide support for conference room audio and video conference setups, including troubleshooting and maintenance as needed. Good Knowledge on Active Directory 2008/2012, including DHCP, DNS, and OU/GPO management. Demonstrate proficiency in network concepts with troubleshooting skills in LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi environments. Manage and troubleshoot IP phones, including Avaya and Cisco Systems. Hands-on experience in Data Centre and Hub Rooms activities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of IT (Information Technology) infrastructure. What you will do: Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop/laptop hardware and software. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktop/laptop systems, including troubleshooting hardware failures, operating system errors, and application malfunctions. Provide technical support and help to end-users, including troubleshooting user-reported issues and providing guidance on software and hardware usage. Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement desktop/laptop deployment strategies, including system imaging and software distribution. Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to improve the performance and efficiency of desktop/laptop systems. Maintain accurate records of desktop/laptop inventory, configurations, and maintenance activities. Stay up to date with advancements in desktop/laptop technology and recommend relevant updates and improvements to the IT infrastructure. Assist in the planning and execution of desktop/laptop-related projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, rollouts, and Vulnerability remediations.  Implement security measures to protect desktop/laptop systems from potential threats, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption. Effective communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with end-users and IT teams. Train and mentor junior members of the IT team on desktop/laptop maintenance and support best practices. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. What we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or equivalent are a plus.
