Scope: We are looking for an experienced Desktop/Laptop Engineer with at least 8 years of relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop and laptop support, including hardware and software troubleshooting, deployment, and maintenance. The Desktop/Laptop Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all desktop and laptop systems within the organization and providing technical support to end-users. You will be a person of JDA Associate’s trust. They will rely on you to provide timely and accurate solutions to their technical issues & Incidents. Our current technical environment: Possess a strong knowledge of Windows client operating systems such as Windows 10 & 11, as well as macOS management, including configuration and troubleshooting. Proficient in Windows Imaging and OS deployment using tools like Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and Operating System Deployment (OSD) methods. Demonstrated expertise in any Endpoint management tool, including application packaging, troubleshooting issues, and generating reports for management. Strong understanding of deploying Microsoft patches, including monthly, quarterly, and feature updates, to ensure system security and performance. Expertise in Microsoft Intune for Autopilot deployment and troubleshooting devices with enrollment issues, ensuring smooth device onboarding and management. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting MacBook hardware and operating system issues, ensuring optimal performance and user experience. Possess strong hardware troubleshooting skills and the ability to log calls with vendors for hardware replacement when necessary, ensuring minimal downtime. Hands-on experience in asset management and tracking, ensuring accurate records of assets and their lifecycle management. Proficiency in advanced system and application troubleshooting for both local and remote support scenarios, ensuring timely issue resolution. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash for automation tasks, streamlining repetitive processes and enhancing efficiency. Expert in handling incidents/tickets and service requests based on priority, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction. Expertise in setting up and supporting conference room audio and video conferencing systems, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration. Good knowledge of Active Directory, including DHCP, DNS, OU/GPO management, and network concepts with troubleshooting skills in LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi environments. Hands-on experience in Data Center and Hub Rooms activities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of IT infrastructure. Hands-on experience in software management, including installation, configuration, and updates, ensuring software compliance and optimal performance. Good interpersonal skills in vendor management, including effective communication, negotiation, and collaboration with vendors to ensure timely resolution of issues and procurement needs. What you’ll do: Provide comprehensive technical support for desktops, laptops, and associated peripherals. Diagnose hardware and software issues, troubleshoot problems effectively, and implement appropriate solutions to ensure minimal downtime for end-users. Install, configure, and deploy desktop and laptop systems in adherence to organizational standards and requirements. Ensure all systems are updated with the latest software patches and updates for both Windows and macOS platforms. Demonstrate strong proficiency in Windows client operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11, to effectively support end-users and resolve related issues. Provide on-site support to associates experiencing technical issues while working from the office. Deliver timely assistance and resolution to ensure uninterrupted workflow. Communicate with associates to understand and address the root cause of technical problems. Provide clear and concise instructions and guidance to facilitate issue resolution and user understanding. Ensure desktop and laptop systems comply with organizational security policies and standards. Collaborate with internal teams to implement security measures such as antivirus software, vulnerability mitigation, encryption, and access controls. Regularly generate and implement new packages on laptops using management tools on both Windows and macOS platforms. Ensure consistency and reliability in software deployment processes. Maintain accurate documentation of desktop and laptop configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for reference and training purposes. Maintain a comprehensive asset inventory and monitor the movement of assets in and out of the office. Ensure accuracy in asset records and compliance with asset management policies. Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to implement new technologies, resolve technical issues, and enhance overall IT infrastructure and processes. Participate in cross-functional projects as needed. Liaise with hardware and software vendors for support, troubleshooting, and procurement of desktop and laptop equipment and software licenses. Manage vendor relationships effectively to ensure timely resolution of issues and procurement needs. Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to desktop and laptop engineering. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and security. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing priorities and requirements as needed. What we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in desktop and laptop engineering or related IT roles. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
