If none exist, then, you will compose appropriate requirements and specification documents to solicit, evaluate, and validate custom equipment solutions and then work with the vendor to achieve your envisioned test solution! Lastly, when unique or more timely test solutions are called for, you should expect to apply hands on, design, build, test, and document your complete solution from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate is a detailed oriented electrical engineer with background and experience with manufacturing test equipment, automated test systems, calibration methods, data acquisition, data management, data analysis and reporting. Good communication skills are required to write clear specification, assembly, and user documents as well as manage vendor progress and conformance to expectations. Ability to analyze and summarize data, and then present salient results to team members and or management is expected. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Strong knowledge in electrical engineering fundamentals and principals. Experience in design and implementation of test systems or other complex apparatus. Experience working in a production environment with automated test equipment. Experience with estimating uncertainty in ammeters, voltmeters, and thermometers to determine if a gauge is fit for purpose. Experience with printed circuit board assembly design and manufacture including board layout, materials selection, SMT, and test. Understanding of calibration and the propagation of uncertainty and traceability to the SI. Effective in performing detailed electrical design reviews. Hands on experience in working with fixture, tools, and precision instrumentations. Experience with electrical test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, Hands on source meters, electronic loads, logic analyzers, and data loggers. Hands on experience in troubleshooting complex electrical apparatus at the component level. Knowledgeable in statistical analysis of data and tools for analytics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly present data. Ability to clearly explain complex system issues. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and entrepreneurial spirit. Competent using a variety of productivity tools. Ability to work in close cooperation with a cross-functional teams of professionals. Description Description - Collect requirements, review engineering specifications and test plans to determine what, if any, new equipment is required meet test objectives.
- Work with vendors to review and draft achievable specifications.
- Manage vendors to monitor progress, resolve deviations from plan and to test and qualify new test equipment. Review factory acceptance testing, and perform site acceptance testing, etc.
- Write specifications and procedures to enable the purchase and use of selected equipment in domestic and foreign labs.
- Work with lab users of equipment to ensure it works as expected.
- Support design and development of custom equipment for a manufacturing environment.
- Develop procedures and tests based on calibration methods and standards to qualify equipment confirming that it can measure the samples and produce data with the required quality.
- Develop detailed design validation plans.
- Execute design validation activity and determine if apparatus meets specifications.
- Uncover design related issues and communicate them clearly to the team and vendor(s).
- Work in close cooperation with a cross-functional team of professionals.
- Present electrical metrology data and analysis to management. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
