We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems.As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Supply Base Engineer at Broadcom, you will be at the forefront enabling our next generation Storage Area Networking platforms. You will be the technical leader within the supply chain management team in developing and scaling our electro-mechanical supplier network. You will develop engagement models with suppliers, drive new product introductions, establish mechanisms that help identify supplier manufacturing issues, support root cause analysis and process improvement. You are a learner and doer at heart, who continuously engages across business, technical and operational teams to achieve great outcomes.The SBE is considered a commodity expert and should be familiar with processes and systems supporting Quality, Supplier Management, Product Life Cycle Management (new product introductions through end of life support), Commodity teams, Cost Control, and Revenue support. The SBE should have a solid foundation in electromechanical market dynamics, custom enclosure development and how it influences and impacts Broadcom’s business needs.   Key Areas of ResponsibilityBecome a Broadcom product and electromechanical manufacturing expertLead non-recurring supplier projects through the entire lifecycle from design, prototype to production, including onsite support for new product introductions and design/process developmentLead the supplier manufacturing capability assessments and onsite audits in support of Broadcom’s supplier selection processDevelop mechanisms to improve and enhance supply base manufacturing engineering performanceManage and coordinate product development and product launches between Broadcom and its supplier networkCollaborate with Broadcom’s manufacturing supplier network to monitor manufacturing processesResponsible for supplier sustaining activities, including change management, design/process improvements and root cause analysisTrack and communicate project performance on qualitative and quantitative measuresEssential QualificationsMinimum 8+ years experience in Supply Base Engineering/ManagementBS in Engineering, MBA or MS preferred and 6+ years experienceComprehensive knowledge in mechanical manufacturing of computing/networking systemsKnowledge of sheet metal fabrication, including drawing/model reviews, DFx reviews, tooling/part approvals/FAIsKnowledge of machining/molding/additive manufacturing: milling, drilling, turning, CNC programming, injection, laminating, casting, extrusion, 3D printing and moreDemonstrated experience in new product introductions and collaborating with design engineering and suppliers on product development, engineering/manufacturing specifications, and product launchesDemonstrated background in manufacturing outsourcing and developing suppliersExperience with DfX concepts (Design for Manufacturing, Cost, Quality, etc)Utilize quality metrics in developing, monitoring, and improving operational objectivesDemonstrated experience with business communication, can effectively communicate with business, technical and operational teamsAbility to analyze and make critical decisions with minimum dataDemonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAdditional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
