This position is for a DFM engineer who will be focused on Flexible Printed Circuits Assembly(FPCA) manufacturing and process.
Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Min 3 years of engineering design, manufacturing, NPI program management, quality or supplier management in electronic industry Managerial experience in engineering/design/manufacturing/NPI engineering program management will be preferred Other added technical knowledge e.g. FPC assembly, Hot Bar, ACF, COG, reliability, electrical & mechanical design will be an added advantage Willing to travel to support validation builds worldwide (China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, South East Asia, US) Able to relocate and support sustaining projects Good communication and presentation skills Demonstrated strong leadership and problem solving skills Good team-player and able to work with multiple functional groups Passionate & highly independent individual Good discipline, responsible and trust worthy Ability to work under fast pace and high pressure environment Highly committed and result orientated Description Description - Attend development builds as required under direction of Operations Engineering Directly Responsible Individual (DRI)
- May provide guidance and support to Apple FPCA Subcontractor and contract manufacturing (CM)
- Acts as project leader supervises a variety of sophisticated projects
- Plan, develop and implement technically complex procedures for FPCA manufacturing process and quality requirements.
- Perform design review, identify design risks, provide design recommendation & justification during New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Provide early manufacturing involvement to ensure new products is manufacturable. Activities include driving out costs in design/FPCA manufacturing process, tooling, influencing designs so that they are simple & manufacturable with good quality
- Make recommendations for changes required in design & manufacturing processes
- Design and develop technically complex new processes to improve quality and efficiency
- Collaborate with Apple Subcontractor and lead technical & quality aspects of Volume Manufacturing builds
- Ensure Apple FPCA Subcontractors/CM partner adhere to process, quality & test standards
- Ensure maintenance of specified quality levels at FPCA Manufacturing
- Establish guidelines, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) & Best Known Method (BKM) for manufacturing process & quality control
- Conduct process audit, product & process qualification, manufacturing line qualification, assess supplier performance
- Manage NPI projects & quality to ensure flawless transition to product ramp
