Senior Audio Engineer

As part of the Sonos team, you’ll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realize our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.As a Senior Audio Engineer within this newly formed product development organisation you will be responsible for developing the acoustic systems at the heart of the industry’s most innovative ultra-portable products. In the process, you will work with some of the brightest minds in the business across multiple disciplines of software, hardware and acoustics.What You’ll DoDevelop acoustic structures and systemsEvaluate hardware and define system requirements Root cause complex problems that may span interfaces between hardware and softwareAnalyse product data, test product samples, and lead the optimisation of designCommunicate and liaise with contract manufacturers and vendorsContribute to the development of the technology roadmap Develop and mentor junior engineersRequirements Core: An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in acoustics A minimum of 5 years of relevant audio product development experience A proven track record of supporting the development of products from exploration through to mass productionProficient in building tools for system simulation and data analysis using MatlabExperience of performing and interpreting audio measurements in electronic and acoustic domainsKnowledge of the fundamentals of digital signal processingExperience with manipulating physical prototypes to achieve accurate acoustic resultsStrong written and verbal English communication skills with experience articulating technical concepts in cross-functional teamsThe ability to travel within China and overseas when required, to meet the needs of the project and the businessPreferred: Software programming experienceKnowledge of PythonFamiliarity with simulation software such as COMSOLExperience with supporting high volume production in consumer electronicsYour profile will be reviewed and you'll hear from us once we have an update.
